Affirmation of Faith
Our Beliefs
The Vision of Generation 2000 Ministries, Inc. believes in the essentials of the Christian faith described below. We ecumenically embrace and celebrate the diversity of expression within the Body of Christ when centered on the person of Jesus.
The Gospel
We believe that the Gospel is the true story that God is the creator of all things and, though man has sinned and fallen short of His glory, God sent His only son Jesus Christ to redeem sinners and defeat sin, death, and evil through His life, death, and resurrection and will one day return to renew all things.
Genesis 1-3, Ephesians 2:1-10, Revelation 21:1-4
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the authoritative Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and without error. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks.
2 Timothy 3:16, Thessalonians 2:13, Matthew 4:4
The Trinity
We believe that there is one true God externally existent in three divine persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each hold equal authority and power, and possess distinct, yet complementary roles in God’s redemptive story.
Matthew 28:19; John 10:30, Ephesians 4:4-6
God the Father
We believe in God, the Father, a personal being who is perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe His plan is to redeem the brokenness and sin of all who trust in Jesus Christ, to defeat the spiritual forces of evil, and ultimately to renew all of His creation.
Genesis 12:1-3, Exodus 34:6-7, 2 Peter 3:9
God the Son - Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, sent by God the Father, and incarnated by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His sinless life, His miracles and teachings, His atoning death through His shed blood for humanity, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His continual prayer for His people, and His personal visible return to earth.
John 1:1-4, 14, Acts 2:22-24, Revelations 19:11-16
God the Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, sent from the Father and Son into the world to convict and draw sinners to Christ, to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit continually indwells in every believer of Christ, empowers them with His gifts, and seals them until the day of redemption.
Acts 1:8 and 4:31, Romans 8:9, Galatians 5:22-26
Humanity
We believe that all people are created in God’s image, disfigured by Adam’s sin, which is inherited and reflected by all humanity. As a result, all of humanity faces just condemnation before the one, true God. The salvation of man is wholly a work of God’s free grace and is not the work, in whole or part, of human effort, goodness, or religious ceremony. However, we believe that all who repent of their sin and trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are delivered from condemnation and renewed in the image of God.
Ephesians 2:1-10, Romans 3:23-25, Titus 3:4-7
The Church
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true followers of Christ are members of His body, the Church. We believe God admonishes His people to assemble together to worship, for edification through the reading of His word, and for mutual encouragement.
1 Corinthians 12:12-27, Acts 2:42-47, Acts 4:32-36
Christian Worship
We believe that all of life is worship and that Christians should live fully for the glory of God and the good of others, dedicating themselves to prayer and submitting to Christ’s authority over every aspect of their lives.
Matthew 22:37-39, 1 Corinthians 10:31, John 4:23
Mission
We believe that all Christians are commanded by Jesus Christ to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world, engage with peoples and cultures redemptively, and to disciple people of every tribe, tongue, and language.
Matthew 28:18-20, Romans 10:14-15, Revelations 7:9
The Rapture and Christ’s Return
We believe in the visible return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the body, the final judgement, the endless suffering of the wicked, the eternal joy of the redeemed, and the renewal of all things.
1 Corinthians 15:51-57, Revelation 19: 11-16, Revelation 20:11-15
